     John Sholder was born on 29 May 1849 at Farm of Christian Sholder, Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3 He was the son of Christian August Scholderer and Anna Margareta Lutscher.2,1 John Sholder married, at age 34, Hannah J. Berry, age 22, daughter of Peter Berry and Elizabeth Kinley, on Thursday, 27 March 1884 at Home of Peter Berry, Newberry, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend J. M. King.3 John Sholder died in 1913 at age 63 years.
     As of 1910, John Sholder lived at Lycoming Creek Road, Newberry, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His occupation is listed as being a gardener.4 He appears in family photograph on 24 August 1912 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. This was taken as a part of a family reunion in which this photograph appeared in the Sunday Grit on 1 September 1912.
