     John F. Scholderer was born on 14 July 1827 at Ohio.7,8,9 He was the son of Jacob Friedrich Scholderer and Margaret Miller.1,10 John F. Scholderer married, at age 25, Sophia Schaeffer on Sunday, 10 October 1852 at Ross County, Ohio.11,5 John F. Scholderer died on 22 January 1868 at Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio, at age 40 years, 6 months and 8 days.1,6 He was buried in section 1, in the Greenlawn Cemetery, located in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio.6
     In the Fifth Census for the United States of America, enumerated 1 June 1830 John F. Scholderer was probably included as a free white male, between the age of newborn and under 5 years, located in Jacob Friedrich Scholderer's household, Jefferson Township, Ross County, Ohio.10

John F. Scholderer was probably included as a free white male, between the age of 10 and under 15 years, in Jacob Friedrich Scholderer's household, enumerated 1 June 1840 in the Sixth Census for the United States of America, Chillicothe / Scioto Township, Ross County, Ohio.12 John F. Scholderer was a copper smith between 1850 and 1860.13,14

John F. Scholderer was listed as living in the household of Jacob Friedrich Scholderer in the Seventh Census for the United States of America, enumerated on 16 July 1850 Chillicothe / Scioto Township, Ross County, Ohio, age 23 working as a "Copper Smith" being born in Ohio.15

John F. Scholderer was listed as the head of household in the Eighth Census for the United States of America, enumerated on 20 June 1860 in the State of Ohio, Ross County, Chillicothe, 4th Ward as "John F. Sholderer," a white male age 33 with an occupation of a copper smith, being born in Ohio and able to write; no real estate value was listed but his personal property was valued at $800, the equivalent of $16,330 in the year 2000. We find Sophia Schaeffer resided in the same household, as "Sophia" age 28 being born in Sachsen; as did George W. Scholderer, as "George" age 8 being born in Ohio; and Lydia Scholderer, as "Lise" age 4 being born in Ohio.16
