     Betty Jane Bartlett was born on 1 January 1922 at Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2,3 She was the daughter of Floyd Howard Bartlett and Eva V. Payne.2 Betty Jane Bartlett married, at age 20, James Jessie Dooris, age 22, son of George A. Dooris and Theresa I. Smith, on Wednesday, 18 November 1942.1,2 Betty Jane Bartlett died on 23 October 2006 at Divine Providence Hospital, The Gatehouse, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 84 years, 9 months and 22 days.2,3 She was buried on 26 October 2006 in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Monsignor Stephen D. McGough.2
     As of 2000, Betty Jane Bartlett and James Jessie Dooris lived at 1101 Spruce Street, Montoursville, Pennsylvania.1

     The former Betty Jane Bartlett was listed in the obituary of James Jessie Dooris, on 18 March 2001 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, as his wife.1 As of 2002, Betty Jane Bartlett lived at 1760 Loyalsock Drive, Apt. #1, Williamsport, Pennsylvania. As of 2006, Betty Jane Bartlett lived at 1715 Homewood Avenue, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.2 Her obituary was published on 25 October 2006 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Betty J. Dooris, 84, of 1715 Homewood Ave., Williamsport, and formerly of Montoursville, died Oct. 23, 2006, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.

     Born Jan. 1, 1922, in Montoursville, she was the daughter of Floyd and Eva V. Payne Bartlett.

     She retired from the Grit Publishing Co. and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

     Preceding her in death was a husband, James J. Dooris, who died March 17, 2001.

     Surviving her are two sons, James F. (Betty) Dooris of Sterling, Va. and Donald (Helen) Dooris, with whom she resided; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

     There will be a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, Oct. 26, 11:45 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport with Msgr. Stephen D. McGough as celebrant. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends will be received Wednesday, Oct. 25, 6-8 p.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.2
