He was the son of Elmer Rantz Pryor and Erma Alberta Sholder. Robert Elwood Pryor married, at age 19, Mildred Virginia Snook, age 18, daughter of John Wesley Snook and Edna Bitting, on Saturday, 2 November 1946 at Episcopal Church, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Robert Elwood Pryor died on 6 January 1997 at University Hospital, Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, at age 69 years, 9 months and 14 days.1
