Clarence M. Sholder1,2

     Clarence M. Sholder was born on 23 July 1878.3,2,4 He was the son of Benjamin Sholder and Emma L. Goldy.1 Clarence M. Sholder married Mabel M. DeRemer, daughter of Clarence J. DeRemer and Annie [—?—], circa 1901.5 Clarence M. Sholder died on 4 August 1962 at Brookside, Cogan House Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 84 years and 12 days.3,2,4 He was buried in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.4
     He had a canteen that was used during the Spanish-American War, which Leonard Sholder now has. He appeared on the census of 7 June 1900 in the household of Benjamin Sholder and Emma L. Goldy at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Clarence M. Sholder was a member of the school board for Bottle Run School Number 2, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, between 1910 and 1911. He and Mabel M. DeRemer appeared on the census of 21 April 1910 at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Clarence M. Sholder and Mabel M. DeRemer joined the Presbyterian Church of Williamsport on 3 April 1911. Clarence M. Sholder was a farmer.2

     Clarence M. Sholder was listed in Mabel M. DeRemer's obituary in April 1940 in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, as her husband.5 Clarence M. Sholder appeared on the census of 3 May 1940 at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary was published sometime in August 1962 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Clarence (Mick) Sholder, 84, died at the home of his son Frederick, of Williamsport RD 2, on Saturday afternoon, Aug 4, 1962. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Sholder was an elder of the Bethel Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. Surviving are two other sons, W. Dale, Lycoming County register and recorder, and Clarence B. of Ralston; three daughters, Mrs. Leon Bartlow, Mrs. Mildred Ratcliff, and Mrs. Vernon Kelley, all of Williamsport RD 2; a sister Mrs. Ethel Sweely, of this city. There are 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.2
